Trauma Informed Care

Trauma can tear through our lives like a storm causing confusion, worry and sadness. You may feel fragmented and alone as you try to understand what has happened and how you'll ever be the same. Whether years ago or yesterday, trauma erodes at happiness and leaves you feeling as though you can never trust or feel safe again. But there is hope and happiness is there for your taking. Trauma informed therapy utilizes a variety of techniques to support the reconfiguration of thoughts and belief systems. As you walk this path, I will be with you every step of the way. Through the healing nature of the therapeutic relationship, you will begin to regain a sense of belonging and feel whole again.

Teens

Helping teens understand and manage the heartache and wonder of adolescence can bring a world of change into your home. Adolescence is a time of drastic change and new beginnings. Teens are hard wired to push against their parents as they search for their own identity, sometimes at the cost of their own wellbeing. Therapy can offer your teen a warm space to discover themselves while learning boundaries to keep them safe emotionally and physically. Mental health disorders that begin to show symptoms in adolescence have the unique opportunity of being addressed before they become lifelong problems. Having a therapist who understands these issues and their unique presentations can make all the difference.

Relationship Challenges

Navigating the many phases of love and life together can be a challenge. Whether newly in love or seasoned professionals, relationship intimacy can sometimes get stuck in a rut and need a little help to get back on track. We each carry into our relationships invisible attachment bonds we learned in childhood. Often unknowingly, we choose people who trigger those attachment bonds and feelings of anxiety. However, these triggers may not mean incompatibility and can actually become a path to healing with yourself and each other.

Parent Coaching

Parenting can feel like a marathon, with no directions or water breaks. There are a million different books to read, podcasts to listen to and styles of parenting to follow. How will you know what is right for your children? What if your child has a mental health diagnosis? What happens when you and your partner don't agree on parenting styles?

Parenting is undoubtedly the most important job in the world. Take the guess work out of it by getting support that is designed for your family's unique needs.
